LAND USE PLANNING
The NCWRPC assists local governments in the preparation of comprehensive plans under Wisconsin’s new Comprehensive Planning Law, as well as traditional land use plans. Zoning and land division ordinance assistance to implement plans is also available.
In addition, the NCWRPC prepares a variety of environment based plans, such as outdoor recreation plans for area counties and local communities, lake plans for lake districts and well head protection plans for communities.

Land Use Planning & Zoning:
The NCWRPC provides professional assistance in the areas of land use policy and management. The planning process is adapted to each community. GIS technology is used to create maps that aid in the visualization of plan outcomes. A range of zoning assistance is available from updating an existing ordinance to drafting a new ordinance tailored to your specific needs.
Community Technical Assistance:
NCWRPC Staff assists local units of government in identifying problems and developing viable solutions. Services can range from preparing a study or plan to securing financing for community projects or to drafting ordinances.
Lake Management and Classification:
The NCWRPC can assist local governments and lake districts or associations with the preparation of grant applications for funding to do lake planning, classification, management and protection projects. Further, the NCWRPC can prepare such plans, studies, surveys and reports as needed to implement the program to satisfy the grant requirements and community goals.
Parks and Recreation:
The NCWRPC can assist with drafting of community and county-wide outdoor recreation plans that meet DNR standards to qualify for grant programs it administers. The grant applications can also be prepared.
