The Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan is one of the first steps to implementing the Regional Livability Plan, adopted by the NCWRPC in 2015. The plan will analyze bicycle and pedestrian transportation throughout the ten county region and recommend policies, programs, and facilities to improve the safety, viability, convenience, and attractiveness of bicycling and walking for transportation. The NCWRPC has received a Transportation Alternatives Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to assist in the funding of this project. The plan is expected to be completed by the end of 2017. The plan can be used by local and county governments to ensure that alternative transportation networks connect between the various communities throughout the region, and to help create consistent networks across jurisdictions. The regional plan will also assist communities within the region in obtaining grant funding for bicycle and pedestrian improvements.
